CHIEF JOHN WAUKON

The Incorporated Town of Waukon was declared Monday, April 2, 1883 at the office of C.S. Stilwell.
Monday April 30, 1883 the first election for town officer’s was held.
The first meeting of the town council was held May 2, 1883 in the office of Dayton & Dayton.
On May 15th, 1883 the council elected the first Marshal and Street Commissioner, J.A. Townsend.
